After moving to Seattle, I designed this bookcase for records and oversize books to fit in the corner of our new living room. I used a biscuit joiner borrowed from the NE Seattle Tool Library to strengthen the mitered corners. Shelves are dadoed and have vertical spacers for reinforcement and easy record browsing. For width, strength and stability, I used good old 3/4″ birch ply but banded the edges before painting to give it a clean look. The paint is a low voc (imitation) Benjamin Moore Decorators White with a thinned poly finish coat.
